Meet your representatives
Kia Ora. My Name is Neil McCutchan. I am seeking re-election on Bamford School Board of Trustee’s as a parent representative. My wife (Tracy-Jane) and I have four children, 3 young adults and our youngest who has just started her first year at Avonside Girls High School, after spending most of her primary school life at Bamford. I own and run a business in the Woolston area with my brother and business partner who also has a son at Bamford Primary. I have been part of the Bamford Board for the past four years; three of which I have been the Board Chairman. In this time we have seen a number changes. The current Bamford Board have given our Principal and teaching staff the platform to enhance every student’s learning and excel them to their full potential. We are working very hard towards a brand new school as part of our school rebuild programme. This is due to start construction in the coming months. I see this as being a fresh start to produce a hidden jewel in Woolston’s crown; that can grow talented children with the help of all staff and dedicated whanau/parents.
Hi my name is Len Pluck my son Mandela goes to Bamford School and i am on the school board at present and wish to carry on being on the board I am at the school most days in the morning and afternoon to listen to what questions you may have . I work part time to school hours so i can be there for Mandela I am a ex pupil of the school and i wish for the school to kept on moving forward as we get our rebuilt under way and better classrooms etc for the children Looking forward to any question you may have or any way i may be able to help
My name is Blair Roberts and I am standing for the Board of Trustees for Bamford School. My wife Mandy and I are the proud parents of Sharlotte who is Year 4 in Di Murphy's class.
I am passionate about Bamford School and want the very best education and experiences for Sharlotte and your children. Last year, after Marty moved away in Term 2, I ran the Garden Club with the help of Di and Room 4 along with the Garden Leaders from the senior school. We have started Garden Club again this term with preparations under way for the season ahead.
From a professional perspective, I work as a caretaker at St Joseph's Primary School Papanui, since 2012. In this time there were 2 complete rebuilds in 2014 and 2017 of some of our older classrooms. Going forward for Bamford's rebuild I believe my particular skill set and experience will be very useful to the Board and the school as a whole.
I believe that Bamford is a fantastic school with huge potential if we can tap into our community. We have great kids, great staff and very caring families but I feel with leadership the school community can become even tighter for the greater good of our children. As Di Murphy once told me "it takes a village to raise a child".
I would appreciate the opportunity to support your children and the values of the school through my presence on the Board of Trustees.
My name is Angela Williams and I am a current board member who is keen to be re-elected to continue the good work that the board is doing. I am the parent of Charlotte who is in year 7 and Blair who finished year 8 last year. Being on the board has given me great experience to continue to manage the school well. I assist in organising the Halloween disco and I am one of the parents manning the food stall. I have previously been on committees such as Plunket, Eastside Toy Library and work social clubs which gives me well rounded experience in managing the responsibilities required.
